Talking to a delegation of farmers here on Wednesday, Malik said the department was also focusing to improve the purchase process of wheat and its transportation to the markets.
He said the government had also raised the wheat support prices and was providing all facilities to the growers.
The secretary said the government had given rewards of four tractors, five threshers, 16 seed drills and shields to the growers, which gave maximum wheat production this year.
He further said the growers giving high wheat production would be awarded these modern equipment even more next year as compared to the current year.
The Punjab government has increased the wheat production target by one million tonnes for the next year in the province.
